Any prerequisites?
  • While there are no required writing prerequisites for this course, it’s strongly recommended that learners have proficiency with writing in English in a work setting. Writing mechanics, such as grammar and syntax, are not covered in this course.
  • While there is no requirement for knowing a specific coding language, learners should have experience with data analysis and be comfortable with reading the results of an analysis.

    Sprint 1: Preparing to Write the First Draft
    In this sprint, you’ll work through one of the major hurdles of writing a report: the dreaded first draft. You'll start off by discussing what makes data and writing a powerful combination; then we'll work on structuring and organizing an outline. Finally, you'll dive into the report drafting process and how to write with the audience in mind.
    Sprint 2: First Draft to Final Product - Making Your Work Count
    In this sprint, you'll take a first draft and turn it into a lean, mean, well-written machine! Firs, you’ll learn how to craft a report that makes an impact by utilizing visualizations and persuasive language. Then, with the power of revision, you'll refine and fine-tune your report until it's ready for the world!

    We are excited that Modal now offers a deferred direct bill payment option for Booz Allen employees.

    The deferred direct bill payment option enables employees to enroll in learning opportunities with no upfront costs. This payment option will require the employee to sign a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) agreement with Modal to release grades/completion to Booz Allen to satisfy the FlexEd Program completion requirement.
