Python for Data Science
4 hours/week | Live (Zoom) Sessions Thursdays at 1pm PST
Take your first steps programming with Python. In this course for the beginner programmer and data enthusiast, you will develop your computational thinking skills and write your first programs in Python. Throughout the course, you will build a foundational skill set to store, access, manipulate, visualize and analyze data using Python, extending Python’s capabilities through popular libraries like pandas and Matplotlib.

No previous coding experience required.
Learning Outcomes
  • Write programs in Python that efficiently use functions and looping structures.
  • Visualize data with Matplotib and communicate a clear data story.
  • Write organized, well-commented Python code that follows standard naming conventions.
  • Use Python to store, access, and manipulate tubular data.
